Often a Mac is considered to be one of the stylish machines from Apple Inc. At the same time, Macs are considered to be more expensive and less productive than a Windows PC. However, that’s just a complete myth! A Mac has several features and nice things which a Windows PC just does not have. Here are few reasons why you should consider buying a Mac when you are planning to buy a new computing machine.

Consistency: Mac machines are often free from troublesome updates as compared to a Windows based PC. Also, every time Windows PC gets a version upgrade, there are so many things that undergo serious changes. However, the consistency in the way you use a Mac remains regardless of what version of its operating system you’re using.

Reliability: Most Windows machines suffer from unpredicted errors very often and they find their machines crash with blue screens of death. This, however, is not the same with Mac. Of course, no computing device is safe from all kinds of errors, but the frequency of occurrence of errors is fairly lower. Primary reasons why the Mac computers are relatively free from errors is that the compatibility of the hardware and the software. In case of Mac, hardware as well as software, both are developed by Apple and are great in terms of their compatibility.

Speed: Macs are minimalistic in terms of their out-of-the-box functionalities. This is why they are often faster than their Windows counterparts. For instance, if you are trying to open a website, say, http://www.britainsbestfrankingmachines.co.uk/ on your Mac browser, it’s more likely to be opened in less time than on the Internet Explorer that comes shipped with almost all versions of Windows. Similarly, annoying start-up icons, quick launch icons, balloon notifications of windows are almost absent and un-intrusive in case of Macs, which makes your experience faster and more productive.

It’s easy to forget how ugly computers, printers, photocopiers, faxs and scanners used to be. Back in the 1980s and 1990s computer equipment only came in one colour: beige. A grubby, greyish beige at that. Monitors and base units were all lumpy, blocky and frankly unattractive. They cost so much you’d need to run an Enigin scam or win the lottery to buy one, but they weren’t going to improve the look of your study!

There was the odd attempt to enliven the design, but the “greige” chunks of square plastic always won out. Even Apple Macs were made of the stuff. Their rainbow apple logo was the prettiest part of the Mactintosh Classic home computer.

When laptops arrived on the scene, a new colour was added to the computer world: dark grey. More practical than the greige, certainly, but still not hugely attractive.

Fast forward to the late 1990s, and Apple Mac is about to deliver a huge design shock to the computer industry. Coincidentally (or maybe not!) the mighty Steve Jobs had just returned to Macintosh after a hiatus. Certainly, Jobs had been keen to shake up the basic computer design. The man for the job is British designer Jonathan Ive, who has been responsible for all the Mac designs since.

Between them Jobs and Ive delivered the first iMac: a beautifully curved monitor that combined the base unit and the screen, and a matching keyboard and mouse. It was available at first in ’Bondi Blue’, with some sections coloured a clear transparent turquoise, and others a translucent white. The iMac, and the laptop version, the iBook, which were made in a whole variety of different colours, revolutionised consumer design.

Think about the variety of colours and designs currently available for consumer goods: from computers, to fridges, to hand held gaming devices and kettles, there is an almost infinite number. Thanks to the innovations of Jonathan Ive, your computer can reflect your personality through your choice of design. You can choose to have a fridge, toaster, cooker and kettle all in your favourite shade of orange should you wish. And the goods available are designed to be tactile, beautiful and useful. Thanks again, Apple Mac!

If man was the greatest creation of God, then computers are the greatest invention of Man. There is no doubt to the fact that the world today is run by machines. It’s the computer that runs the world. You are wrong if you think that it’s your political leader who runs you country. The more the world develops, the more it is going to become mechanical. Today some of the most important decisions in the world are taken on the basis of the analysis presented by computer.

Computers are not as they were just 5 years ago. The improvements made on this machine are incredible. People like Steve Jobs have taken the concept of computer to new heights. They are the visionaries who think that whatever they imagine is possible in the real world. Not only was Steve Jobs good at creating new products, but he was also highly keen at improving the existing products as well. There is no doubt that Apple has some of the smartest brains working in the background and Steve Job apart from everything else is also their face.

There is no doubt that Apple has some of the most unique products, which is why whatever it launches it starts selling at a very high rate. I have even seen people standing in queue outside an Apple store waiting to grab their favorite Apple product. Even before a product is launched, thousands are already waiting for it. I am sure the marketing department of Apple effectively uses pop up stand adverts, social media, TV adverts etc to make sure that their product is launched with a bang. The large market share Apple has is also due to the new features they always add to their products and also the reputation of being a reliable product. I hope that this trend will continue and we consumers will continue to enjoy the amazing products Apple has to offer.

Steve Jobs, this enigmatic and mystical man, who changed the world and, in my humble opinion, deserves to be remembered forever, and he will be. But his personality and short life is a mixture of exiting events and at the same time extraordinary stories. Steve Jobs is a complex man and his life deserves to be explored. So far there have been several biographies but neither one of them has been claimed official. Nevertheless, the most recent one, written by Walter Isaacson, the author who also revealed to the world the lives of Albert Einstein and Abraham Lincoln, was not only approved by Steve, but according to the book, it was a result of his intention to let the whole world know, what Steve Jobs is all about.

I personally finished reading a couple of days ago and I can honestly say that this is a book that everyone should read. This book will help any businessmen, student or young boy to find the courage and not to give up, no matter what. This book will teach you that if you are brave and smart enough, even the sky isn’t the limit. It tells the story of a boy who was put for adoption and latter grew up in a wonderful family, family which shaped his character and made him the man we now all love and respect. The book came out short after Steve passed away, three weeks to be exact. For a couple of months the book managed to become the bestselling book on Amazon and number one present this Christmas. This fantastic biography is also promoted in almost every book store around the world and I am sure that most of you have noticed the roller banners in their cities, inviting you to check the book out, and the most mesmerizing thing about those ads is the calm face of Steve Jobs from the cover of the book, the only thing he influenced.

On November 22, 2011 it was decided that the products produced by Apple Inc., did not in any way infringe on the patents of S3 Graphics, a newly acquired HTC Corp subsidiary. The decision came down from the United States International Trade Commission (ITC). This no doubt was a serious setback for HTC which is one of the main makers of Android sets. It is however very good news for Apple, who is looking to for a greater share of the marketplace.

This is a reversal of a preliminary ruling which had stated that a number of Apple products were in violation of texture compression patents held by S3 Graphics. Texture compression is used primarily in 3-D games and some other computer applications.

Apple is a company that is into innovation, the combining of many of its products in terms of usage and customer data integration is looking for leverage when doing their negotiations for licensing deals for the use of their technology. Apples devices are amongst if not the best and most popular on the market today and any leverage they can get to stay in that dominant position all goes well for them.

The problem now is that there are still a few other legal battles to be fought by these companies with each other. The ITC only a few weeks ago opened an investigation on a complaint from S3 that on four of its patents Apple was in violation. There is also a case to be decided upon where Apple is claiming patent infringement by HTC. This means more rulings are forthcoming.

The current ruling however, means that if Apple prevails in its case a number of HTC products could end up being under an injunction. Currently HTC is working to mitigate the effects of such a ruling so that its products are not seriously affect or simply not affected in any way. They are also looking at their options concerning this new decision and that included even appealing.

One thing is a fact: when Steve Jobs stands up and talks about the world of Apple, it’s with a passion that is rarely matched. Better still, Jobs has never dropped the ball. He’s always been at the top of the game, and with his age the opposite of what often happens to older people has occurred: he has fallen even more in love with new-school technology. In turn we have come to love what Mr Jobs says, and consider him as the official word on all things technological.

From office companies which handle secure shredding to mega-companies which rely on speedy computer interfaces, Apple have become the only choice. Why is this? There are a few reasons, so let’s list them below:

Apple pump money into research facilities which look to a brighter future, one where everything is even better than what it is now

Apple are always stylish. While style isn’t everything, Apple have found the ideal compromise between what looks good and what is most practical.

Apple are leaders: nobody can argue with this one – it’s something which has been obvious for a very long time and looks set to remain the case, even if Steve Jobs is stepping down from his up-until-now very public role; in short, Apple decide the future and other companies copy it. Which makes it all the more impressive that Apple have kept their cool and have generally left other companies to their own devices.

Apple aren’t just about making money: this is a controversial one, but nevertheless that’s our opinion – while the form are obviously in it for the money, they are also in it for the innovation. Every single year, Apple pump money into research facilities which look to a brighter future, one where everything is even better than what it is now. The fact of the matter is this: the company will not stop – they’re addicted to the idea of making technological progress, and so long as they keep doing that they will have many happy fans.

Apple back their devices up with help and information which many companies don’t bother to do: this is extremely helpful, and something which others would do well to emulate.

Apple put what they know in the public eye: although they have a habit of keeping some things under wraps for what seems like a lifetime, they are very much a company who keep themselves in the public eye. This keeps things exciting, because the consumer gets to follow the progress of each invention. No wonder that by the time they’re available, we’re all camped outside the Apple store to get our hands on the next big thing.

An era in Apple is about to come to an end. The long lasting leadership of Steve Jobs, one of the main figures in the history of Apple, is now gone. He would be remembered as the person who took Apple to being the second most valuable world company, with his innovations in technology, with the development of the revolutionary iPhone, with the invention of the first tablet technology ever applied to consumer devices and with driving the company to overtaking its major competitors. No matter whether it is data cleansing services or home delivery, Apple has also delivered the best of services and has gained a lot of consumer satisfaction.

However, Apple’s boss, who is on a medical leave since January 17, would now be replaced by another Apple figure - Tim Cook. He has also participated extensively in the development of the company, delivering many of the most innovative technology solutions. Before steeping up, however, Cook’s company was surprised by a sudden share value drop. The shares of Apple dropped significantly after Steve Jobs declared he is leaving the company. The fall was with almost 7% and this made Apple, for a short period of time, less attractive to investors than major competitors such as Nokia and HTC.

However, confidence among investors was restored after significant trading activity. The news about the excellence in the work of Cook and his team restored the long lasting belief in the Apple’s quality and despite the absence of Steve Jobs, technology experts and financial specialists do not doubt that brighter future is coming for the company.

Ever since the BBC reported on Apple’s iCloud service back in May, naysayers began to speculate on whether it would rival similar storage services like the ones provided by Dropbox. Apple enthusiasts needn’t have worried though as since the launch of the iCloud, the service has been warmly reviewed. iCloud is quick to access and very user friendly. As ease of use has always been Apple’s point of difference, it’s comforting to see that the critics have been proven wrong.

With the iPhone and iPad now mainstays in the Smartphone and Tablet markets, the iCloud allows all Apple users to finally silence the detractors. It seems everyone likes to have a pop at Apple every now and then. Just like it is fashionable to hate Manchester United so too is it fashionable to hate Apple. The iCloud has been pored over, tested, scanned, then re-tested and so far the worst critics have to say about it is that it doesn’t stream music in the way people were hoping.

Whilst it’s true that you cannot stream music directly onto any of your devices – you have to download the music separately to iTunes – iCloud does sync up all your music across how ever many devices you have. Google and Amazon breathed a sigh of relief at this news. The good thing is that most of your music doesn’t require storing: iCloud will recognise it and give you access to the iTunes version. This saves you the hassle of storing it yourself. Critics have pointed out that this is not the flexibility that users want and that Apple should provide. However as neither Google nor Amazon offer the flexibility that critics talk about it is frustrating to see Apple being singled out as the naughty one.

iCloud does more right then it does wrong. Able to hold all of your applications, iTunes music and other content, it also updates your calendars and contacts across all devices which is extremely useful. There is no management or synching required. However as always with Apple, when using the service abroad you will need to take into account the internet charges that could come into play. A standard Apple roaming fee can be avoided by changing your sim card when travelling. You only need get an adaptor for the iPhone 4 to ensure any sim is compatible and there is a brilliant roaming service available from other companies like abroadband. On this point it must be conceded that Apple has a way to go before offering their customers the best prices.

iCloud marks Apple’s investment in cloud based data storage and where Apple go, others will follow.

The first time I ever saw an Apple laptop, I was completely swept off my feet. It looked beautiful with its sleek body and excellent display. The keypads felt just right and well, I just wanted one right then and there, the high price not withstanding!

Since then, the company has consistently launched one successful product after another. All are eagerly lapped up to an ever-increasing base of Apple converts. In fact all their products somehow seem to hit the sweet spot. Good for them, I say.

Recently, I was searching for some info on R4 3DS and came across a video of a two year old happily using an iPad effortlessly. His proud father even commented on how it was helping to improve the child’s hand-eye coordination within a short period. It seems that iPads and Macs are fast becoming a natural fit for a whole lot of toddlers, teens and youth. Apple’s brainwash tactics seems to work like a charm – well embedded in a child from the time A stands for Apple. And there are many, many such clips. Forget plastic giraffes and lions, enjoying a swing, cycling, scraping a knee and playing with other children - basic interaction that develops our key skills. Here come the iPad toddlers. New generations of gadget glued people seem to be in the making. Excellent with hand-eye coordination – but no social skills!

Don’t get me wrong; I’m all for Apple. But I think there is something very wrong when toddlers are shown as experts with products meant for adults. For heavens'sake, they have all their lives ahead to do this. Now unconsciously, parents feel duty bound to keep up with the Jones. Perhaps even take a loan to buy an Apple for their toddler – just imagine their sense of failure if their toddler is unable to chat on Facebook!

Lack of creativity or desperate creativity? Or even worse, is the Apple marking the end of innocence – the second time around?

Your Mac seems like it always runs out of space and when it starts to get full it is likely to slow down. This makes it important for you to start making hard decisions on which files you really need and which you can give up and lose.

When you run out of space for your Mac, you can do some cleaning of your system which will involve deleting old, unused, and unnecessary files. When you have used your Mac for quite some time already, you must know that the items that you put in the systems ‘Trash'are kept there and on your hard disk until the it is emptied.

If you want more space, you can do more than this but you have to have some time to get it all done. You can format your hard disk while you backup your documents first. You can then reinstall all of your Mac’s applications and the documents that you need. This ensures a bigger hard disk space.

This task, indeed, will take you even a day or more. This is especially true when you have had a failure in your hard disk and were compelled to perform to this function. However, it is undeniably true that when you are done with this task, your hard disk will look big and empty again.

You can also get information on IT support to help you out should you need to take this much further. You may be advised to dump more files and programs that you do not need or change out your hard disk for one with a larger capacity.
