Mac OS X Lion review

Jonathan Shaw is a King among the sea of artists, or at least king of the Mac operating systems.
In a nod to its mobile iPhone/iPad influences, Lion continue its advancement in ’multi-touch gestures'for its multi-touch trackpad. The familiar gestures used to scroll, click, zoom, swipe and navigate will continue to be used in lieu of a full-touch-screen monitor, which, to be honest, will be cumbersome to use in a laptop computer environment.
One of the new highlighted features in Lion are the seamless incorporation with the App Store (dubbed the Mac App Store) making it easier to find, download and install your apps. Users of the iPad will recognize and appreciate this new “one-click and you’re ready to go”feature.
Another highlighted feature is also here thanks to the iPad – the Launchpad. This feature is an easy way to organize (and launch!) your apps. With one click, you can see all your apps, and just like on an iPad, you can drag apps to organize them, placing them in folders, or placing them into multiple pages, swiping elegantly to navigate between the pages.
Another nod to iPad’s usability is the full-screen app function. With just a click, your app can be made full-screen, allowing you to work using the maximum screen space available, with no distractions.
Helping manage the intuitive fluidity of the iPad-influenced features in Lion is the new feature called Mission Control. Activated by a single swipe, you can get a big picture view of everything that is active on your Mac. Open windows, grouped by app, thumbnails of full-screens, your Dashboard, and Spaces – all of these are at your fingertips in one view, intuitively organized.
These new intuitive interface and features, making it easier to work and play on the Mac, do seem like they will make Mac users jump up and roar for Lion.
