Computer viruses on your Mac

Computer viruses on your Mac

Not so long ago computer viruses were only a threat for the users of the Microsoft Windows platform. However, the computer hackers apparently have decided to attack Mac users as well. There have been numerous reports from users complaining about system crashes, unclear messages and information loss.

So maybe it is time for the mac users to familiarize themselves with a program called an antivirus protection software. For those of you who don’t have an idea what a computer virus might be and how a software can protect you from getting one I will briefly explain.

A computer virus is a program or a coded message that has been sent to you most commonly through your email. It is like a disease that basically makes your computer sick. Some viruses can be transferred through your home wireless network. Hackers break into it and can abuse your information. So wireless network security practices like setting a password to your network are advisable. You can consider going online to look for comet.co.uk discount codes.

Viruses can be transferred to you system by external devices like an usb flash drive so be careful what you connect to your computer. Visiting pornographic or other suspicious websites which are advertising questionable products and services can lead to another breach in your system.

So, first, be careful what information do you send and receive. Second it is advisable to install an antivirus software on your Mac OS. This program acts fast and stops viruses that are trying to infect your system. A lot of software companies provide antivirus programs for mac, so you can easily find one online. Some of them are free, for others you will have to pay. It is considered that the paid versions are more reliable as they have huge R&D teams that update the antivirus database daily.

If you think that you can’t go over the procedure alone or you still have questions go to the nearest Apple Store or contact the online support team.

The new MacBook Air

The new MacBook Air

Apple recently announced the release of the second generation MacBook Air. As every new product that Apples unveils the new MacBook Air was surrounded my media attention, rumours and of course fanatic apple fans.

There are a couple of changes to the new generation. There are now two models: a 13-inch and a 11-inch . They both look the same. The new design makes the Air even smaller and thinner. It is made by using Apple’s unibody technology where the laptop’s case is made out of a single aluminium piece. This of course makes the notebook extremely sturdy and stylish. The new Macs are equipped with Intel Core2Duo processors and fast integrated graphics from Nvidia. Both the 13 and 11-inch models can boot the operating system whiting a couple of seconds or the so called “Instant on” thanks to fast SSD chips. In the 11-inch they are standard, but you have to pay extra if you want them in your 13-inch. The new Airs have an integrated camera for video chatting and a build in microphone. However just like the old one the new Airs don’t have a build-in optical drive, but an external one can be order from the Apple store. The weight of both laptops is impressive only 2, 3 pounds for the small one, which is about the same as a pack of sugar, and 2, 9 pounds for the 13-inch one. When you hold them in your hands they feel so light that it is almost unbelievable that Apple has managed to squeeze everything in such an elegant package.

The start price for the small Air is £849 and for the 13-inch £1,099 and they are already available. If you are a student you get a significant price reduction when you buy laptop from Apple, so don’t miss out.

MAC IS BACK…FOR GOOD

MAC IS BACK...FOR GOOD

Believe it or not, the Apple Macintosh will make monopoly in the PC market in years to come. Before Microsoft was the tech giant that no one could compete or come close to. But apple overtook Microsoft sales early this year in may. Even though apple is an overpriced expensive product, people never hesitate to spend money on it. Simple reason, flawless performance.
My sister has an Apple mac book, I have a HP (with microsoft) and I have had enough with the damn machine. I end throwing them away within a year. Well its time I stopped fooling myself and so do you. Never have I seen the mac freeze, may it does but for the 2 years she’s been using it, she has never called me complaining about freeze’s or malfunctions. Plus the quality of a Mac runs miles ahead from any other PC you can ever imagine. The interface is easy to use and it takes no time to get adjusted to it. However the only thing is that you will find more Microsoft users around you rather than Mac, you’ll end up shedding extra money on making Microsoft programs compatible with your machine. Nonetheless, the applications and software used is great to use, it is definitely much more smoother to use. Apple started to climb up the ladder to success ever since the launch of the iPod. It changed everyone’s perspective on portable music and till date it remains the number one product for music. The launch of the iPad and the new iPhone has made things better for them ever since. Nevertheless these are the products that ensure that Apple will officially take the over throne in no less then 3 to 4 years. This makes Microsoft products feel like old used campervans compared to the new cruisers of Apple that run flawlessly.
The only thing stopping me from getting a Mac is it’s gaming capability. It has taken a start as it has integrated itself with the Steam network. Soon it will diminish Microsoft in all spheres of Technology. Be prepared Microsoft fanboy’s!!
