Why Apple is So Innovative The reason why you shouldn’t buy the iPhone

Should Apple Buy Adobe

There have been many rumours that Apple will buy Adobe, and they continue to have no base in reality. Why do these rumours and gossip always find their way into the media? Many believe that a potential purchase of Adobe by Apple would only serve to make Adobe’s products that much better, make things easier on the product users, and eliminate similar applications.

For starters, many of the video applications that Adobe offers there is n equivalent version over at Apple. Applications such as Premiere and Soundbooth from Adobe do not compare to the quality equivalent applications offered by Apple, such as Final Cut. It is widely accepted that the best video applications are offered by Apple, but not on the PC. If Adobe is owned by Apple, these high quality applications would be available in a new market.

Apple would streamline and create more efficient applications in the realm of design, specifically with the popular Photoshop program. Adobe has a tendency to upgrade their products due to financial needs; however, if Apple owned Adobe, these financial needs are lessened, allowing for upgrades only when they are truly needed.

Adobe’s popular Acrobat would also see a restructuring. But the powers of PDF also have an equivalent in problems. Apple’s Preview provides the same benefits without the problems and extras with Acrobat.

Apple’s acquisition of Adobe would also see the inevitable death of Flash gracefully. Slowly they can allow Flash to die simply by providing fixes but no new features, with the elimination of Flash happening before the introduction of HTML5.

If such an acquisition does occur, there are very few negatives involved; in fact Apple would likely only improve the successful elements offered by Adobe while eliminating those applications with equivalent but superior products by Apple.

But do we really want one company to control much of what we do and use. Adobe is a popular company with very popular products and Apple already has its massive following. Hopefully they can assure us that the Adobe will consistently retain its high quality and innovation should they buy it. I guess we will have to wait and see.

One final remark however, I have just had a look at the design for this hr software page and I am actually having issue with it in the safari browser. Could it be that Apple need Adobe more than Adobe need them?
